The fireplace has been re-clad in plywood in preparation for the ledge stone installation. There was two rebar supports concealed prior to the substrate that will support the weight of the new live-edge mantel. A slab of BC cedar was stained and treated prior to the installation. A valence hides a channel on the underside of the slab for the stocking hooks. Santa can fill the stockings! Ledge stone from a local quarry has been sourced and the installation is scheduled to begin next week.
There will be a mantel to hang stockings on!
