Speedy Bagels

Ingredients:

    • 3 cups all-purpose flour 
    • 2 tsp baking powder
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning 
    • ½ tsp salt
    • 2 cups plain Greek yogurt 

     

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside
  2. In a large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt. Add yogurt and stir until ragged dough forms. Bring dough together using your hands in a bowl. Dump onto floured work surface and knead until smooth dough forms and is not sticky; sprinkle with additional flour, as necessary.
  3. Divide dough into 8 pieces and roll each into a 9-inch rope. Pinch edges together to form a circle and place on prepared pan. Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden. Let cool slightly.
    Variations:

     

    Everything bagel, omit Italian seasoning and garlic powder and substitute 2 tsp everything bagel seasoning.

    Cheddar variation, add ½ cup shredded sharp Cheddar Cheese with yogurt and sprinkle tops with 1/2cup more cheddar before baking

    Cinnamon Raisin variation, Omit garlic powder and Italian seasoning and substitute 2 tsp ground cinnamon. Stir in ¾ cup raisins with yogurt.
