On November 11, we pause to honour the courage, service, and sacrifice of Canada’s Veterans and active service members. We remember those who gave their lives in the line of duty and those whose lives were forever changed in the pursuit of peace.

Remembrance Day is a time for reflection — a moment to consider the freedoms and communities we enjoy because of the sacrifices of others. Across Alberta and Canada, cenotaphs, memorials, and gathering spaces stand as lasting reminders of these stories.

As designers, we recognize the importance of spaces that invite remembrance. Whether it’s a public plaza, a community hall, or a quiet corner within a building, thoughtful design can create opportunities for people to gather, reflect, and honour the past.

At 11:00 a.m., we join Canadians from coast to coast in a moment of silence, keeping the stories and sacrifices of our Veterans close in our hearts.

Lest we forget.
