Breaded Tilapia Fish
Ingredients:
-
- 4 tilapia fillets
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (you can use seasoned breadcrumbs for extra flavor)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- Cooking oil (such as vegetable oil) for frying
- Lemon wedges for serving (optional)
Instructions:
- In a shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs with a pinch of salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix these dry ingredients together.
- In another shallow dish, place the all-purpose flour.
- In a third shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk to create an egg wash.
- Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture.
- Dredge each tilapia fillet in the flour, coating both sides. Shake off any excess flour.
- Dip the floured fillets into the egg wash, ensuring they are well-coated.
- Transfer the fillets to the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the breadcrumbs onto both sides of the fish to adhere.
- Heat cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. You’ll want enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan.
- Once the oil is hot (about 350°F or 175°C), carefully add the breaded tilapia fillets to the skillet. Cook for approximately 3-4 minutes on each side or until the fish is golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature of the fish should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Remove the cooked fillets from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
- Serve the breaded tilapia fish with lemon wedges if desired and enjoy!
- This recipe offers a crispy and flavorful coated for your tilapia fillets. Its simple and delicous way to prepare this mild white fish.
