Up on the second floor, the children’s play room and craft area built-ins are nearing completion. Prior to the renovation, the toys could be found in all corners of the house. The challenge with most crafts is they cannot be complete in one sitting; by creating an area where the crafts can be complete and possibly left out is to everyone’s advantage. The work space is out of the main stream of activities and toys and crafts alike will be hidden from view in this wall organizer. A detailed inventory of the materials, toys and sewing machine were taken prior to the final design. This ensured that all the items had a home in the new wall unit. The contrast of the hickory hardwood and paint grade cabinetry makes for a very light filled space. The true test will come when the boxes are unpacked.
