The Challenge:
Two optometrists, previous clients with individual practices, embarked on a journey to merge their clinics as part of a retirement plan for one of the owners. This merger posed multifaceted challenges, encompassing staff integration, operational harmonization, and the unification of two physical spaces with differing finishes and cabinetry styles. The task was to shuffle and optimize various elements to create a cohesive and efficient new clinic.

The Design Solution:
Decca Design meticulously assessed the space requirements, integrating 5 exam lanes, 2 eye spa rooms, and relocating vision therapy to a larger area with ample storage for resources. Budget-conscious decisions were pivotal at every step, determining where existing infrastructure could be utilized and where new spaces were essential. The clinic was strategically designed around a central showroom, with dispensing, fitting, and consult areas flanking it. The existing reception desk was relocated to the newly expanded area, creating a fresh waiting room for the eye spa and vision therapy. Additional expansions included a larger staff room, a business center, and a rear entrance. A unifying color change throughout the clinic and the refinishing of cabinetry to fit a grey and white palette brought a renewed and harmonious aesthetic. Upholstery of existing furniture also played a key role in establishing a new, unified brand identity for the merged practices.
