The Challenge:
We all know the popular corner jetted tub found in most homes of the 80’s and nineties. The one that by the time it would fill with water it would inevitably be cold! Looking to update the finishes and provide this family with a great shower were the two main objectives when embarking on this renovation. All the design decisions where made and materials procured so that the execution was to occur while they were on holidays. Do you blame them? Who wants to live in a renovation.

The Design Solution:
The Solution:
The corner built-in tub was replaced with a freestanding soaker that would allow more floor space and open the area. The new shower would occupy a footprint of 38” X 60”. The length assists with creating a shower entry without a door and easy access to the main controls. The flat sloped floor drains to a lineal drain in front of the tiled bench and recessed shampoo shelf. The tile is the same on all surfaces, floor, walls and ceiling creating an expanded visual. Glass panels define the bathing area and bring light and space to this morning ritual. A neutral palette is present with new vanity and countertop and all plumbing fixtures are in oil rubbed bronze. The renovation was complete in time for their arrival home, the perfect conclusion to a renovation.
“Having Decca Design create the concept for my ensuite renovation, then implement the design, and finally project management the work was amazing. I was confident when we returned from vacation, the work would be completed and that Jennifer would make any necessary decision to ensure it was done right!”
